Diego Sanchez, Art Department Chair, St. Catherine’s School
Born in Bogotá, Colombia, Diego Sanchez is a Richmond-based artist who has taught at the VMFA, the VisArts Center, VCU, and VUU, and has been at the helm of St. Catherine’s Art Department for more than 20 years. Known for his use of unorthodox materials with an emphasis on surfaces, we are thrilled that Diego will have pieces from his portfolio on display for our members to view and enjoy.

Chef Hamidullah Noori, The Mantu and The Mantu Market
Hamidullah Noori settled in Richmond after fleeing Afghanistan with his family in 2015. A skilled chef, he opened The Mantu in 2019, a modern Afghan fine dining restaurant in Carytown, and later added The Mantu Market, a neighborhood grocery, bakery and deli, to his achievements. Join us as we learn about Chef Noori’s inspiring personal story and the meaning behind his mantra that “we are proud to serve humanity through our food.”
